What is SEPA Direct Debit?

SEPA (Single Euro Payments Area) is a simplified payment structure introduced by the European Council. Using the service, bank-to-bank transfers are possible between chequing accounts at European financial institutions.

SEPA Direct Debit is also compatible with recurring payments. A signed document granting access to the chequing account must be provided by the customer, but once that is complete the merchant is free to continue collecting payments automatically at the agreed-upon interval and amount. A PSP can also provide a one-click shopping experience to customers who have provided the access paperwork, which is great for repeat business.

This payment method is currently undergoing testing by PremierPay, but once made available, a company could be paid directly from chequing accounts from anywhere in North America and Europe.

PremierPay provides the necessary documents for your company to begin to collect recurring or one-click payments from debit cards online. Simply submit a request through our support system once you have signed up for an account and one of our skilled representatives will tailor the documents to your specific needs.
